Our new guidebook for Beacon Rock in Southwest Washington is almost done. We worked with many local climbers to produce a much anticipated guidebook for one of the most unique and awe inspiring climbing areas in America. Beacon Rock is a massive andesite plug that rises our of the Columbia River Gorge. This area is reminiscent of Devil’s Tower in Wyoming and has giant columnar basalt pillars, dihedrals, and tall, splitter-cracks that rise high above the Columbia Gorge. This guide includes all the routes at this fantastic area and some of the new bouldering around the park as well. This book includes high resolution, aerial-topo maps of the rock so you can easily see belays, climbs, and pitches as well as descent routes.
